Fall Frolic Brings Free Halloween Arts and Trick-or-Treating to Glen Echo Park on Saturday Afternoon
Glen Echo Park's annual Fall Frolic runs Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. in Montgomery County, with free crafts, studio trick-or-treating, a costume contest and live Halloween music — and an emphasis on the artsy over the scary.

Families looking for a daylight Halloween plan in Montgomery County can head to Glen Echo Park on Saturday afternoon. The park's annual Fall Frolic runs October 31 from 1 to 4 p.m., with free family-friendly activities presented by the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture, according to the park's official calendar.
The afternoon leans creative rather than frightening. Children can decorate a trick-or-treat bag and make other crafts, pose at a festive fall photo-op, and go trick-or-treating at the park's resident art studios and galleries, the park says. A costume contest will name winners for "Most Spooky," "Most Creative" and "Best Group."
Music runs through the event as well: Halloween music is provided by the Washington Conservatory of Music, and the Heritage Tourism Alliance of Montgomery County's listing notes performances by Washington Conservatory students and orchestra members.
Admission is free, and an RSVP is preferred but not required, according to the park. Glen Echo Park is at 7300 MacArthur Boulevard in Glen Echo, Maryland — a short trip from the District line for capital-region families who want their Halloween fun finished before dark.
