John Washington III Says It Is Time to Question the Entire System Both Parties Operate Under
John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, argued that Democrats and Republicans operate under the same political system, and asked why so many Americans still feel taken advantage of no matter which party holds office.

John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, has called on Americans to question the political system itself, rather than only the two parties that take turns running it. "This political system is a joke! It's time to question the entire system!" he wrote.
John Washington III noted that Democrats and Republicans are two different political parties, but argued that both operate under the same political system. Both parties participate in passing laws, collecting taxes, creating regulations, and exercising governmental authority over the American people, he wrote. "If both political parties are supposed to be fighting for the people, why do so many Americans continue to feel like they are the ones being taken advantage of?" he wrote.
John Washington III asked why Americans argue about Democrats and Republicans instead of questioning the system both parties operate under. "Who is really benefiting? Who is really being represented? And who is actually holding these people accountable?" he wrote. He also pointed to election-season promises — to fight for voters, protect their rights, lower their taxes, and change the system — and asked what happens after the election: "Where is the change? Where is the accountability? Where is the fight for the American people?"
John Washington III also addressed his own party directly. "I am a member of the Democratic Party!" he wrote. "But that does not mean I'm going to sit here and pretend that everything the Democratic Party does is right!" — and, he wrote, he is not going to pretend that everything the Republican Party does is wrong, either. His questions, he wrote, are directed at the American people, the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, and every government official in the country.
