Election Day in Alexandria and Fairfax County: Polls Open 6 to 7 Tuesday, With Three House Races and Two Bond Questions on the Ballot
Alexandria and Fairfax County voters go to the polls Tuesday, November 3, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. to elect a U.S. senator and their members of the U.S. House, using the same district lines as 2022 and 2024.

Virginia voters go to the polls Tuesday, November 3, to elect a U.S. senator and all 11 members of the U.S. House, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Alexandria Living Magazine reported in its election guide for Alexandria and Fairfax County. Voters will use the same district lines as in 2022 and 2024: a new map approved by voters in an April 21 special election never took effect, because the Supreme Court of Virginia struck down the redistricting amendment on May 8.
In the 8th District, U.S. Rep. Don Beyer, a Democrat who has represented the district since 2015, faces Republican Tony Sabio, Libertarian Shelly M. Arnoldi and independent Tim S. Sharman. The district includes Alexandria, Arlington, Falls Church and parts of Fairfax County. Depending on where they live, Fairfax County voters will also vote in the 10th District, where U.S. Rep. Suhas Subramanyam faces Dave T. Beckwith and Ahsen Mujeeb Malik, or the 11th, where U.S. Rep. James Walkinshaw faces Arthur G. Purves and Dianne L. Blais, and county voters will decide two bond questions.
Two practical notes for Tuesday: the former View Alexandria precinct now votes at Hope Way, 2800 Hope Way, and a 24-hour drop box outside the Office of Voter Registration and Elections at 132 N. Royal Street in Alexandria stays open until 7 p.m. Tuesday for mail ballots. Unofficial results will be posted on the Virginia Department of Elections website after polls close.
