Beginning at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, F Street NW from 7th to 9th Street and 8th Street NW from E to F Street will be posted Emergency No Parking and closed to vehicle traffic for the DowntownDC Holiday Market, MPD said.

Drivers in downtown Washington will lose two stretches of roadway starting Sunday night for the DowntownDC Holiday Market, according to a Metropolitan Police Department traffic advisory. The market itself runs from Friday, November 13 through Wednesday, December 23, but the street closures begin well ahead of the opening.
Beginning on Sunday, November 1 at 11:30 p.m. and continuing through Tuesday, December 29, F Street NW from 7th Street to 9th Street and 8th Street NW from E Street to F Street will be posted as Emergency No Parking and closed to vehicle traffic, MPD said. On 8th Street, local traffic only will be permitted, and Kimpton Hotel Monaco traffic may enter at 8th Street and E Street during the closure period.
Vehicles parked in violation of the posted emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed, MPD warned, and the public should be guided by the posted signage. All street closures and listed times are subject to change based on prevailing or unexpected conditions, the advisory said.
Motorists could encounter delays in the vicinity of the market and may wish to consider alternate routes, MPD and the District Department of Transportation said, reminding drivers to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated. Timely traffic information is posted through the DC Police Traffic account, MPD said.
