John Washington III Asks Where the Fight Is From Politicians Who Claim to Work for the People
John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, questioned why politicians who campaign on fighting for the people do not fight to hold corrupt police officers accountable, and why they talk about lowering property taxes instead of ending them on homes people own and live in.

John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, has questioned whether politicians who claim to work for the people actually fight for them. "How can you claim to work for the people when you never fight for the people?" he wrote. "Every election season, we hear the same thing. 'I'm working for the people!' 'I'm fighting for the people!' 'I'm here to represent the people!' But my question is, where is the fight?"
John Washington III asked where those politicians are when police officers abuse their authority or engage in corruption. "Why aren't you fighting to hold corrupt police officers accountable?" he wrote. "Why aren't you standing up for the citizens who put you in office?"
John Washington III also pressed the property tax question. Politicians always talk about lowering property taxes, he wrote, but never seriously discuss ending property taxes on the homes people own and live in. "Why should an American family spend 20 or 30 years paying off their home, only to continue paying property taxes on that same home for the rest of their lives?" he wrote. "When do the people actually get to own what they worked their entire lives to pay for?"
John Washington III asked how a politician can campaign on lowering property taxes, get elected, and then vote for tax increases, and how many citizens even know what is being voted on. "Where is the transparency? Where is the accountability? Where is the representation?" he wrote. "You cannot stand in front of cameras during election season claiming you're fighting for the people, then get into office and ignore the very issues affecting their everyday lives."
