Montgomery Planning's November Opens Sunday in Wheaton, With a Visioning Workshop for the Wheaton Plan on November 5
The Montgomery County Planning Board and Planning Department have published their November calendar: it starts Sunday afternoon at a Wheaton movie night and builds to a November 5 Planning Board meeting and a community visioning workshop for the future of Wheaton.

Montgomery Planning's November starts in Wheaton. On Sunday, November 1, Planning staff will attend the Wheaton Urban District Movie Night at Marian Fryer Town Plaza, 2424 Reedie Drive in Wheaton, from 4 to 6 p.m., to share information with the community about The Wheaton Plan: A Georgia Avenue Community Plan.
The month's working meetings follow in Wheaton. The Development Review Committee - an inter-agency task force of Montgomery Planning, the State Highway Administration, county permitting, environmental protection and transportation departments, and utilities including WSSC and PEPCO - meets Tuesday, November 3, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the M-NCPPC Wheaton Headquarters, with a virtual option. The Historic Preservation Commission meets Wednesday, November 4, at 7 p.m. at Wheaton Headquarters, and the Planning Board meets there in person and online on Thursday, November 5, with further Board meetings on November 12 and 19.
The week's centerpiece for residents is also on November 5: a Wheaton Community Visioning Workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheaton Headquarters, where the community is invited to share priorities and ideas for the future of Wheaton as part of the Wheaton Plan, with light refreshments and kid-friendly activities provided and registration encouraged. The public can testify at Planning Board meetings in person, virtually or by phone, or send written comments by email by noon two business days before a meeting. Planning and Planning Board offices will be closed November 11 for Veterans Day, November 26 for Thanksgiving and November 27 for Employee Appreciation Day.
