Washington DC Monday Weather: Overcast and Cool Near 63, Then Election Day Warms to 71 (Washington Sentinel News)

Washington wakes up Monday, November 2, under the same grey lid that closed the weekend. The station's live weather feed put the District at 47 degrees and overcast early Sunday night, feeling like 43.5, and Monday's forecast holds the pattern: overcast skies, a high near 63, a low near 43, and a rain chance of just 5 percent.

Election Day is the turn. Tuesday, November 3, warms to a high of 71 with a low of 52.8 and no rain in the forecast - dry, mild conditions for voters heading to the polls across the District, the Maryland suburbs and Northern Virginia. Wednesday is warmer still, reaching 73.6 with only a 4 percent rain chance.

The price of the warm-up comes late in the week. Thursday turns unsettled, with a high of 74.3 but a rain chance of 47 percent, and Friday stays wet at 48 percent with a high of 64. Saturday dries back out to overcast and 62.8, with the rain chance falling to 22 percent. The practical read for the capital region: Monday is a jacket day, Tuesday and Wednesday are the week's outdoor window, and Thursday and Friday are the days to keep an umbrella close.
