Washington DC Sunday Evening Weather: Skies Clear at 61 After an Overcast Day, and Monday Night Drops to 44 (Washington Sentinel News)

Washington's first day on standard time ended clearer than it spent most of its hours. After an overcast afternoon that topped out at the day's high of 65.3, the station's live weather feed read a clear sky on Sunday evening — code 0 — at 60.8 degrees, feeling like 55.9, on the way to an overnight low of 45.8 with a precipitation chance of just 1 percent.

Monday is the week's hinge. The feed keeps Monday overcast with a high of 66.7 and a precipitation chance of 4 percent, but Monday night falls to 44 degrees — still the coldest night of the week, a degree colder than the afternoon file had it. Election Day follows the pattern the desk has tracked all weekend: Tuesday carries a fog code, a high of 71.2, a low of 44.1 and a 2 percent precipitation chance, and Wednesday stays dry and mild at 70.9 with rain chances of only 3 percent.

The unsettled finish firms up in the evening feed. Thursday holds its moderate-rain code with a high of 68.8, a mild low of 61.8 and a precipitation chance now at 48 percent. Friday keeps the rain and cools to a high of 62.3, with the week's highest precipitation chance, 51 percent, and a low of 58.2. Saturday recovers to 67.8 degrees under an overcast code, but its rain chance has risen to 30 percent in the evening feed, up from 18 percent in the afternoon outlook.
