Gaithersburg Murder: Demari Brown Gets 45 Years for the Killing of Henry Gilbert in Montgomery County
A Montgomery County judge on Monday sentenced Demari Brown, 21, to life in prison with all but 45 years suspended for the first-degree murder of 20-year-old Henry Krishawn Gilbert, who was found shot in his car on Brookridge Court in April 2025.

A Gaithersburg murder case reached its first sentencing on Monday. In the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Judge Debra Dwyer sentenced Demari Brown, 21, of Montgomery Village, to life in prison, suspending all but 45 years to serve, with five years of supervised probation to follow his release, the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office said. Brown had pleaded guilty on May 19 to one count of first-degree murder.
The victim was Henry Krishawn Gilbert, 20, also of Montgomery Village. On April 26, 2025, Gilbert was found deceased inside a green Honda Civic on Brookridge Court in Gaithersburg; the car had struck a curb with its engine still running, and Gilbert had been shot in the head while sitting in his vehicle, prosecutors said.
The Montgomery County Police Homicide Unit's investigation determined that Brown's co-defendant, Jorden Hungerford, 20, had posed as a female friend of the victim in social-media messages, luring Gilbert to Brookridge Court with a request to buy seventy dollars' worth of marijuana from him. The defendants then arrived at the location, where they robbed and shot Gilbert, according to the prosecution's account.
Hungerford's case is not finished. A jury found him guilty on May 18 of first-degree murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony; he faces a potential life sentence plus an additional 60 years, and his sentencing hearing is scheduled for Friday, November 6. Assistant State's Attorneys Teresa Casafranca and Lauren Turner are prosecuting the case.
