Prince George's County Schools Ask Residents to Weigh In on a 10-Year Facilities Plan
Prince George's County Public Schools is holding listening sessions across all nine Board of Education districts through December as it builds a roughly 10-year Educational Facilities Master Plan to guide decisions about school buildings for more than 130,000 students.

Prince George's County Public Schools is asking residents to weigh in on a new Educational Facilities Master Plan, a roughly 10-year plan to guide decisions about school buildings, according to the district's published materials reported by TANTV News. The district serves more than 130,000 students in nearly 200 schools and centers.
The master plan is described by the district as a road map for planning, modernizing and investing in school facilities, framed around questions such as how learning spaces can best support teaching, learning and student success, and how schools can adapt to changing student and community needs, TANTV News reported.
The district's EFMP Listening Tour runs in all nine Board of Education districts, with registration required, according to PGCPS. Sessions began October 19, and the tour's December dates include District 7 on Tuesday, December 8 at Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School in Upper Marlboro and District 6 on Wednesday, December 9 at Central High School in Capitol Heights, according to the district's Capital Programs page.
Residents can register for a session and find details on the district's website, TANTV News reported. The district says the Board of Education is expected to approve the finished plan in 2028.
