MPD Makes an Arrest in a Mount Pleasant Business Burglary
Police say a March break-in at a closed business in the 3200 block of Mount Pleasant Street NW — entry forced through a rear door, money and property taken — has ended in an arrest on a Burglary Two charge.

The Metropolitan Police Department has announced an arrest in a burglary at a Mount Pleasant business, closing a case that began on a March night in Northwest Washington. The break-in happened on March 23, 2026, at a closed business in the 3200 block of Mount Pleasant Street NW, police said.
According to the department's account, the suspect gained forceful entry through the rear door of the business, took money and property, and fled the scene. No one was reported injured in the account police released, and the department did not describe the business or the property taken beyond that summary.
Detectives' investigation led to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, obtained on October 21, 2026. The suspect, identified by police as Martique Giovanni Henderson, 25, of Northwest DC, was taken into custody and charged with Burglary Two, the department said.
Mount Pleasant Street is the commercial spine of a dense row-house neighborhood, and rear-door break-ins at closed businesses are a recurring concern for shopkeepers along the corridor. Police released the arrest as the case moves into court; the charge is an allegation, and the next steps will play out in DC Superior Court.
