Metro Weekday Track Work November 2-5: Red Line Single-Tracks Late Nights, Blue Line Single-Tracks Midday (Washington Sentinel News)

Metro's planned track work moves into the weekday schedule from Monday, November 2 through Thursday, November 5, according to WMATA's planned track work listing. On the Red Line, trains will single-track after 10 p.m. between Union Station and Rhode Island Avenue while crews carry out crossties and switch replacement, WMATA said.

On the Blue Line, trains will single-track from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Van Dorn Street and Franconia-Springfield for thermite welding, according to WMATA. No stations are closed on either line during the work, the listing shows.

The weekday work follows the October 31-November 1 weekend program, in which the Yellow Line ran only between Huntington and Mt Vernon Square and the Green, Orange and Silver lines single-tracked for rail infrastructure improvements. Riders on the Red and Blue lines should allow extra time on the affected segments during the listed hours, and can check WMATA's alerts for the latest state of service.
