The Washington Ballet closes its season-opening program Go-Go 50 on Sunday, November 1, with a final performance at 2 p.m. at the Warner Theatre, 513 13th Street NW. The program, which opened Friday, launches the company's 50th anniversary season and celebrates two landmarks at once: 50 years of The Washington Ballet and 50 years of go-go music.

The centerpiece is a world premiere, An Artist's Prayer, by choreographer Chanel DaSilva in collaboration with DC's own Black Alley, a collaboration the company describes as bridging the language of classical ballet with the enduring legacy of go-go, the District's homegrown sound. The mixed repertory program also reaches back into the company's history, including Trey McIntyre's Blue Until June, created for the company, and works by Choo San Goh and Edwaard Liang.

Go-Go 50 is the first production of a five-production anniversary season that continues with The Nutcracker at the Warner Theatre from November 28 through December 27. Tickets for Sunday's closing performance started at $92, according to the Downtown DC event listing.
